- The game itself costs $70; it comes with the pedestal and three figurines. Each figurine corresponds to one of eight ingame elements. The game can be beaten with any character, but ingame content is locked away from players who don't have certain elements.

- Figurines are sold individually for $8 or in three-packs for $20. All three currently-available three-packs have at least one character that shares an element with a character that's packed in with other content, so if you're trying to minmax the cost you're out of luck there.

- Also on the disc, locked away from Starter Pack customers, are two levels you can't access until you have the Pirate Adventure Pack and the Undead Adventure Pack ($20 each). Each pack comes with a character figure (featuring elements that are mercifully not in the starter pack). I assume that these adventures are on the disc itself, unless each pack comes with download keys for Xbox/PS3/Wii/PC/3DS.

- To access all the content on the disc you will need to spend, bare minimum, $134 at retail: the $70 Starter Pack, two $20 Adventure Packs, and three $8 characters to fill out your array of elements.

- If you want to be a real-life 3D platformer character and COLLECT 'EM ALL you need the 3DS version, which contains a Dark version of Spyro (not sold separately). The 3DS game has entirely different content from the console/PC releases, so at least there's that.

- There are 32 characters in all. If you're absolutely insane and have done all the above steps, you will still have 21 figurines left until you fulfill your mad quest. I'm not about to check and see if the 3DS version crosses over with the three-packs, but even if it doesn't, you're still looking at an additional investment of around $160.

- To collect everything Skylanders, the investment totals to roughly $350. Net cost to Activision: two games and a pile of plastic.

Unless the game itself is total garbage, all parties involved are going to make fucking shitbarrels of cash money with this. It's going to be an outstanding success and have several annualized sequels, even though Spyro himself looks like a devil-chihuahua and doesn't talk.

This post is for anyone who has ever said that sexuality/romance “doesn’t belong in a children’s cartoon”.  I want you to look long and hard at this collection of images.  They are all actual screencaps of cartoons aimed at children.  Now that you have processed these images, I want you to realise one thing: these are all expressions of sexuality and romance.  And you’re quite content for your children to take in these images and ideas.  Here’s a little spoiler for you: these kisses are more sexual than two people simply maybe having feelings for each other.  Yet, if they happen to be two girls or two boys, they’re automatically more dirty and inappropriate than highly intimate open-mouthed kisses.

Protip: before you complain that children are too young for sexuality, remember that sexuality is everywhere in children’s entertainment.  Then do us all a favour and shut the fuck up.
